Christ Comes Post Trib

Rev. 7:13-17 (ESV)
Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, "Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?" [14] I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

[15] "Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
[16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them,
nor any scorching heat.
[17] For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."


“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation”
At times I’m tempted to preach on the graduals that set the theme for a season of the church year. This is one such gradual I’m tempted to preach on. Soon I will start teaching the liturgy in my Children’s Sermons. (Yes I do them. So should you if you are a pastor. Your people want them. And yet for some inexplicable reason you find condescending to children too much for your pride? Jesus scolded the disciples for not letting the children come to him. It is a wonderful opportunity to teach. Sure it isn’t commanded. But it is helpful. Take them through the catechism, take them through the liturgy. One caveat though. Children’s sermons are done during the Divine Service, they are done in view of not only teaching children but all present, and therefore they should be done by a pastor or an elder. 1 Corinthians 14 applies here or it applies nowhere. Women are to remain silent as it says. This shouldn’t even be a point of contention. Pastors should just be doing it themselves even if they suck at it. It is a great time to develop a relationship with these tender lambs of your flock. Tirade over)
These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. Who are these? All the saints just mentioned, the ones without number. It might clue us in on to where the great tribulation is happening and when? It’s been going on for some time now. This world is the great tribulation for the church, for all God’s people. We all experience it in some form, but heaven waits. Yes that means Christ comes post trib if you must know. No one escapes.
