I'm back.

Yes, I am back from Portland. Some who read over at Cranach will know that I have been there. I went Thursday after preaching at the High School. Laura and I made it some time around six. We went to Baileys Taproom in downtown Portland and had a beer with Kevin and Stephany, and a friend of mine from Cranach, tODD. It was good meeting him. tODD and I are known for butting heads on Cranach over politics, and then forming an easy theological alliance over and against evangelicals when we are arguing doctrine. It was good to meet him in person.
The next day we walked downtown Portland. That is a real treat. Lots of interesting architecture, and art. There are also plenty of places to stop and drink good beer. We went to the Rogue Brewery, and also took a tour of their distillery. I think now I might be able to get one of those in my basement... Actually they had a nice Gin. They also made a great Rum. I think I am a fan of Micro distilleries now.
Saturday we went wine hopping. We took a tour of the WillaKenzie winery that was informative. That is one of our favorite wineries in Oregon. Great wine. At the other wineries we mostly tasted wine. We did buy a few bottles. Sunday we went to church and didn't have a whole lot of time to do anything before getting on the plane to come back. It was a nice trip all the way around.
In anycase I noticed I missed a couple conversations here, and that is why.

It was good to meet you, too, Bror. Or, rather, to meet you in person. Do let me know next time you're in town. Maybe you can meet Julia and Simon, then.

Stadler,
That would be great. And if you ever find your way through Salt Lake, just let me know.

Sounds like a pretty rough trip.

Glad you made it back safe and sound.
