Some Believed

Luke 8:40-42 (ESV)
Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. [41] And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus' feet, he implored him to come to his house, [42] for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
As Jesus went, the people pressed around him.

“Jews” don’t always get the best reputation in the gospels. At times it seems as if all the Jewish leaders were opposed to him. It isn’t true. Of course all the earliest Christians were Jews. And some very high ranking ones believed in Jesus themselves. Here is one who knows who Jesus is, and believes he can help. But there is a whole crowd waiting to welcome him.
