Judas Gives to the Poor

Mark 14:10-11 (ESV)
Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. [11] And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him.

So now the one complaining that the woman wasted money on Jesus when she could have given to the poor, is ready to betray Jesus for money. Isn’t that the case with most of us? I sometimes wonder. How many don’t go to church because they are afraid of the offering plate. How many? They complain that the church doesn’t give enough to the poor, but never give of themselves to the church or the poor. Hypocrisy, we are all guilty. Well in a manner of speaking he does give to the poor, buying a pauper’s grave yard. Somehow, I just don’t think that is how he originally meant to spend the money.
