Matthew 9:32-34 (ESV)
As they were going away, behold, a demon-oppressed man who was mute was brought to him. [33] And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, "Never was anything like this seen in Israel." [34] But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons by the prince of demons."
He casts our demons by the prince of demons. Jesus answers this charge in other texts. Of course the Pharisees are threatened so they refuse to believe. They make up excuses for not believing. But in the end, the mute man spoke. The demon was cast out. The people who wanted to see a sign saw a sign and they refused to believe. So it will always be for some. But for those who believe, mercy is shown.
