A. F. Huhn quote Concerning the Lord's Supper

“You may believe it or not, you may bless it or revile it, you may hold that the Lord’s Supper is Christ body and blood or not, it makes no real difference in the matter.
The cup that is blessed is a participation in Christ’s Blood, and the bread that is blessed is a participation in Christ’s body for all who receive the Lord’s Supper without exception. This is our Lutheran teaching concerning the Lord’s Supper, just as it is the Apostle Paul’s , and the whole of Holy Scriptures teaching.
But how? Is it then indifferent how one comes to the Lord’s Supper, repentant or not, believing or unbelieving? No! If you believe, then Christ’s body and blood become a blessing for you. If you do not believe, the you eat and drink to your judgment, to the hardening of your heart, and to desecration.” A. F. Huhn translated from page 11 of Kyrka och Folk, nr. 8 February 25th 2011.
