Your own Personal Hell?

Alma 54:7 Book of Mormon
“Yea, I would tell you these things if you were capable of hearkening unto them; yea, I would tell you concerning that awful hell that awaits to receive such murderers as thou and thy brother have been except ye repent and withdraw your murderous purposes, and return with your armies to your own lands. “
Mormons tell me repeatedly that they don’t believe in hell, but the outer darkness. When you bring up hell they like to tell you that it is more a state of being that is talked about. One even on this blog said that people live in hell here on earth because of the decisions they made. Yes I know many that live in their own personal hell due to decisions they have made. Most of them are Mormons. True as it may be that people create for themselves something we like to flippantly call a hell here on earth, that is not the sense of this text. This hell isn’t created but receives people, and it receives them for their sins.
Again I have to ask, do Mormon’s believe in the Book of Mormon? Then why do they ask me to?
