Jesus Born in Jerusalem according to the Book of Mormon

Alma 7: 10 [Book of Mormon]
“And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem, which is the land of our fore fathers, and being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son and even the Son of God. “
There are several problems with this text.
Now Mormon’s believe that it was not just the divinity of Christ that was begotten of the father, but also his humanity. They claim and I will just send you to this text written by them that Jesus received 23 chromosomes from the Father and Twenty three from Mary.

If this is true, then he was conceived by the Father, not the Holy Spirit. Jesus was begotten of the Father from all eternity, it had nothing to do with his conception and birth in time. The Mormon doctrine on this is highly confusing, and the apologetical arguments trying to defend it are even more confusing. The Holy Spirit is different from the Father. I don’t argue that Christ received any chromosomes whatsoever from the Holy Spirit or the Father, God is Spirit. Spirit is Spirit, flesh is flesh.
But the other problem with this is Jesus simply was not born in Jerusalem. Joseph Smith couldn’t get it right even after the fact! He was born in Bethlehem, the city of David.
Perhaps I’ll just leave it at that.

You idiot.

Alma does not say Jesus was born in the city of Jerusalem. He says that Jesus was born in the land of Jerusalem. Bethlehem, just 5 miles south of the city of Jerusalem, was part of the land of Jerusalem. Even Hebron, 25 miles away from the city of Jerusalem, was part of the land of Jerusalem.

Maybe you better go back to the seminary and study your priestcraft some more. Better yet, get a real job, and stop sponging off of others.
