The True Temple

Rev. 11:1-3 (ESV)
Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, "Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, [2] but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. [3] And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth."

The temple of God is to be measured but the outer courts and the holy city are not to be. The message is that the temple, the true temple of God remains forever, even though the temple mount be given over to pagan nations, like the Muslims that currently have it. No matter what happens to the temple, the body of Christ lives. At times the church may look overrun by unbelievers, just look at Spong, Pike, KG Hammar, the list could go on, the Pope for that matter, and yet the true body of Christ survives, the temple is not overrun. And all through this time the word of God lives and is prophesied the Gospel goes forth and is preached even in the outer courts of the temple overrun by the nations.

"The Pope for that matter" (?)

Okay, I have some serious differences with the Pope, although I think he's an improvement over the last one. But an unbeliever? Aren't you painting with a little too broad a brush?

-Johnson,
Contact details?
In the interest of not wanting more spam in my Mail box or solicitors ringing my office phone. If you look up the web page for my home congregation you will probably find what you are looking for. It is in the blog roll.

Scottydog,
I don't know the heart of our present day pope. But it is hard for me to believe that a man as intelligent as that, can't know the depth of deceit his office entails. The office he holds is that of the anti-Christ, because it quite literally tries to put itself in the place of Christ. It really does become that simple.
That said I do like to read a lot of what the guy has written. I don't agree with all of it. But it can make a person think.
