Jesus is God, was God, and always has been and will be God!

Col. 1:15-20 (ESV)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. [16] For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. [17] And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. [19] For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, [20] and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

I don’t think you could find a more compelling argument for the deity of Christ. All things were created through Christ, and for Christ Jesus. Interesting that it says for him, like it was a gift from the Father to the Son, a gift of love, for which love had to become man and die. For in Him, the fullness of God, who is love, was pleased to dwell. This is a profound statement. Jesus is God the fullness there of. So when Jesus died as man, God died. And when Jesus died his death was given infinite value to cover the sins of all men.
This is the chief difference between Christians and Mormon’s. Ultimately this is where the conversation needs to be held with them. We don’t need to quibble over the law. Just show how they are breaking the second commandment when they refuse to acknowledge that Jesus is God, was God and always has been. I bring up the Mormon thing. I am going to start a new blog series, as I read through the “Book of Mormon. “ I started that the other day after I got into it with a couple mousy Mormon missionaries unfortunate enough to ring my door bell. I wasn’t cordial with them, as I normally try to be. Their mousiness just caught my cantankerous side. I’m getting quite fed up with these people, who don’t know what I believe, claiming to believe the same thing as I do. It is a lie, and they know it. If they really believed the same thing I do, they wouldn’t ring my door bell to convert me. They then proceed to blaspheme my God, and expect me to shake their hand when they leave. I am not doing that anymore. I’m not shaking their hand when they come ring my doorbell to lie to me, blaspheme my God, and tell me about their liver shivers that supposedly give them the right to do so. I don’t believe in liver shivers, I have too many of them. I don’t trust them when it comes to women; I’m not going to trust them when it comes to religion. If I thought it was true love every time a woman gave me a liver shiver I would be in real trouble, especially with my wife. Fickle feelings are not a reason to abandon the word of God. In any case I am going to read this blasphemous book and comment on it, and I hope you will all get something out of it.

Just don't say anything against Joseph Smith, then they'll really get mad. All kinds of lies they are able to tolerate, otherwise. There is no tolerating of any criticism of Smith. (I see him as a "malignant narcissist", psychologically, like Stalin and Hitler.)

I would agree with your assessment, the amazing thing is that he pulled it off. The problem with cults though is people get so emotionally invested they don't want to see truth at all.
