Resurrected in a Body of Heavenly Glory

[35] But someone will ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?" [36] You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. [37] And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. [38] But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. [39] For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. [40] There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. [41] There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. 1 Cor. 15:35-41 (ESV)

To this day people question as to what kind of body they will have in heaven. If one dies as a baby, are they doomed to be a baby in heaven? If one dies in old age are they doomed to have an old body in heaven. The answer is no. We cannot know the full extent of what our body will be in heaven. But it will be a mature body, that has not aged with effects of sin. It will be a glorified body, different than the body we have now. It will be without sin. Sin effects even the outward appearance of our body, as we step closer and closer to the grave day by day. We lose our sight, our hearing, our skin wrinkles, our bellies bulge, our joints give way. This is all caused by sin, and leads to death. But when we are raised God will give us a body of his own choosing, a body of which our current body is nothing but a seed sown in the grave. We will see better, hear better, have perfect skin, taught bellies, and be able to run faster and further than ever before. It will be a heavenly glory, of which earthly glory can hardly be compared.

Hey Bror-

Does that mean that those of us with "Bigger bulging Bellies" have more Sin??

(Ha! Ha!)

Some of my closest Friends have "Bigger Bulging Bellies", as I am sure we won't be critical or mean spirited when we go Home.
While managing a Health Club, I met some very healthy individuals that were "Bulging" with sin from the inside......Including me!

It is my understanding that a glorified body can drink copious amounts of beer, which would cause a beer gut in our normal bodies, but will only serve to sustain six pack abs in heaven.

Hey Bror-

What Brand do we ask for when we get there?? ..."Luther Light"??

Hey Apollo819-

Is that me you are talking about with the "Bigger Bulging Belly"??

es ist das heil,

Luther Light? Isn't that an "oxymoron"? Nothing was "light" with that guy, as I don't think he was throwing "Dung Light"!

You know that I am growing to the point buddy, that if you have imperfections, I look way past them. Have my own 12 pak I am working on.

The book is "strong", well written and/or solidly translated.
Its not just for LCMS Lutherans, but anyone that "Looks to the Cross' for solutions.
I challenge all those who read this to purchase one or two,(Great Christmas gift).
Although Giovanni(6) cannot understand some of it, he wants me to read it to him when he catches me reading.

Have a Great Weekend all,

Praise be to God

I'll second you Apollo 819,
Luther Light? huh?!!!
Glad you are enjoying the book. And your right it isn't just for LCMS Lutherans, its for all of Christianity. But it should make them Lutheran when they are done. Kind of like heaven, people tell me there will be baptists in heaven. I say no, baptists will go to heaven, but they will be Lutheran once they are there.

There go the rumors that LCMS Lutheran Pastors are "dry, cantankerous, and without a sense of humor"...
Very Funny Bror
